Vet Dia Gnosis, is a veterinary pathology laboratory in Cyprus lead by various specialists. We provide a comprehensive range of pathology diagnostic testing tailored for the needs of Cypriot veterinarians. All of our services are provided by American or European – recognised specialists.

For faster and more accurate results you can request the pathology tests via the VetClinicPro software. All the results will be automatically uploaded to the VetClinicPro and the patient’s card, avoiding errors and saving precious time for you and your practise.
Vet Dia Gnosis is collaborating with one of the leading specialised veterinary laboratories in Europe (LABOKLIN) to provide to Cypriot veterinarians any additional laboratory tests that are not available via our own local laboratory. This includes veterinary microbiology, PCR tests, biochemistry, immunology, allergy testing and extensive genetics testing list.

Dr Vanessa Herder
Dr. Vanessa Herder, PhD, Dipl. ECVP, Fachtierärztin für Pathologie.
Vanessa has more than 15 years of experience in veterinary pathology, always worked in academia and combined diagnostic pathology with research and teaching. She is a board-certified pathologist (Dipl. ECVP) since 2007 and publications she co-authored have more than 1500 citations in internationally reviewed journals in 2022. Her diagnostic focus has always been equine pathology, dogs, cats and wildlife. She has a passion for forensic cases as well as difficult and complex cases.

Dr Charalampos Attipa
Dr Charalampos Attipa Founder of Vet Dia Gnosis, Head of Clinical PathologyDVM MVetMed MRes RCVS Specialist Diplomate American College of Veterinary Pathologists (Clinical).
Dr Charalampos Attipa is an internationally recognised Cypriot veterinary specialist in the field of Clinical Pathology. He qualified in 2011 from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with first class honours, having also completed a research internship at Cambridge University, UK. After 3 years working as a clinician in Pafos, he completed an internship at Bristol University. He was accepted to the Royal Veterinary College of London for his core specialty training, followed by training at UC Davis Vet School in California. Dr Attipa is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists, an RCVS-recognised Specialist and a pioneer for infectious disease research in companion animals of Cyprus. He has published in leading scientific journals and worked in Malawi fighting cerebral malaria in children.

Dr Alexandros Hardas

Dr Alexandros Hardas graduated in 2011 from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He worked for 3 years in small animal referral hospitals and as a state veterinarian. He completed an externship in veterinary pathology, in Australia, at the Charles Sturt University. In 2016, he joined the research team of Prof. Poutahidis in the Laboratory of Pathology, AUTH, on projects in collaboration with the DCM of MIT. Then between 2018-2021 he became the first Greek to enrol and complete the anatomic pathology specialty programme at the Royal Veterinary College of London. He is currently a Lecturer at the Royal Veterinary College and field of interest is in pathology of neoplasia as well as the use of animal models.

Dr Maria Lyraki
Dr Maria Lyraki, External Collaborator in Internal Medicine DVM MSc DipECVIM-CA MRCVS, EBVS European Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine.
Maria Lyraki is the first Greek veterinary surgeon to have become a European Veterinary Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine. Maria graduated from the vet school of Thessaly in 2015, followed by over 5 years of postgraduate studies in the vet schools of Glasgow and Bristol universities prior passing successfully her examinations to obtain her diploma. During her postgraduate studies, Maria has seen as a primary clinician over 1000 cases under the supervision of specialists in multiple disciplines and she also obtained a master’s degree (MSc) studying primary gastric lymphoma in cats. Since obtaining her diploma, Maria worked as a Senior Clinician in Small Animal Medicine at Langford Vets/University of Bristol seeing a variety of referral cases as well as teaching and supervising veterinary students and residents. Maria enjoys all aspects of internal medicine, with a particular passion for endocrinology, all type of endoscopies and feline medicine.
